Surface Water
The Water Lab
Getting Started
Any lakes, rivers, streams, or oceans can be described as surface water — water that collects above ground. Whether it forms part of a river basin, supplies a fishery, or runs through privately owned land, surface water quality is closely monitored under EPA regulations in Ireland. Pollution from agricultural run-off, industrial discharge, sewage outflows, or natural sources can all affect water quality, and regular sampling is the only reliable way to know what's actually present.
The Water Lab provides sampling and laboratory analysis of surface waters for environmental consultants, local authorities, developers carrying out Environmental Impact Assessments, and landowners concerned about pollution affecting their property. We test for a wide range of chemical and microbiological parameters, comparing results to current EPA quality standards — and we provide clear, unambiguous reporting that you can submit to regulators or use to plan remedial action.
